Haiti Design Co-Op

At the end of September I traveled to Port au Prince, Haiti to visit my good friends Chandler and Josh and shoot for their workshop and business center, Haiti Design Co-op. The two graduated college, got married, and moved to Haiti all in one summer. They've been living and working in Haiti since 2012 and are doing really awesome work there.

Their workshop is the home of Haitian seamstresses, jewelry makers, and leather craftsmen, and Chandler and Josh work to educate, connect, and enrich these talented makers. Through Haiti Design Co-op, local artisans and makers have access to job skill training, business management, and leadership opportunities. Haiti Design Co-op also works to bring quality handmade products to markets around the world and to shops and brands like Fait la Force and Tribe Alive.  In fact, you might have already seen some of the products they make around the internet on Bleubird or A Well Traveled Woman. Most importantly, Haiti Design Co-op also works to enrich the lives of the people of Port au Prince by providing them access to health care, emergency loans, school scholarships, and wellness programs. The mission is for these talented makers to continue to grow their skills and markets so that their community and families can also continue to grow and flourish.

Haiti Design Co-op produces really beautiful, handmade products, but more importantly they are working to develop and sustain an independent economy for these long time Haitian makers. I am so incredible proud of and inspired by the the work of Chandler and Josh! Check out more about what they do at Haiti Design Co-op here, and while you're around take a look at their beautiful products like the Cenice bucket bag and this bone bar necklace. I took home this bracelet, this necklace, and this bag  and have been wearing them out ever since!

Henri Rose

I had the pleasure of shooting product shots and the lookbook for the new Henri Rose sleepwear line. Henri Rose is an incredible company committed to sourcing ethical production and generating self made income for women who have been victims of human trafficking or who are at risk of trafficking in Cambodia.

I'm thrilled to see so many clothing manufacturers like Nisolo and Everlane committed to ethical production, fair wages, and transparency. Henri Rose joins this community of clothing manufacturers and adds a sleepwear option to conscious clothing! I'm so glad to work alongside Taylor and be a part of the incredible work this company is doing. Check out their new line, read about their story, and pre-order a set of sleepwear for yourself here! I'm getting a set for myself and thinking of getting a few more as gifts!

Moriah + LSTN headphones

Good afternoon!! It's a Happy Monday here at WELD! : ) Have you guys heard of LSTN headphones? Every purchase helps someone hear for the first time. A friend of mine was wearing them and I literally bought them 5 mins later-- the wood grain + sound quality is next level. I couldn't be happier with them. Also, check out these photos of Moriah wearing them.. she loved them ALSO! : )

Happy day
